Image: jupiterimages.comWhen I announced do-follow links from this site less than a month ago, I wrote a forward looking statement, as follows:
“Each of the top 10 commentators will get a do-follow link. The do-follow link will be going out from the top page of my site, which means they will not only be prominent to the visitors of this site, but will also get a share of the limited number of outgoing do-follow links from what will possibly be the one page on this site that will have the highest Google Pagerank.
Now, as of this writing, there is no Google Pagerank for this site. But I’m myself working on getting quality do-follow links to this site, so it won’t be long before Google rewards this site with a page rank. And when it does, as an all-time top commentator you stand to gain the benefits.”
I’m glad to announce that Google has awarded the top page of this site a Pagerank of 1. Now that’s not a great deal compared to some sites that have higher Pagerank, but it sure is an important achievement considering that millions of websites die down without being awarded a Pagerank ever.
What’s a PageRank? In very simple words, it’s Google’s way of assigning and declaring the importance of a web page. It is also one of the factors governing how high your page/site ranks up in search engines.
And what does it mean to you if you are amongst the top 10 commentators on this site? Much! Google sees the limited number of do-follow links from this site as a precious vote to your site, and as a result, your site comes closer to being awarded a Pagerank too. And if your’s already has a Pagerank, it adds on to take it higher.
So, “Congratulations!” to the current top 10 commentators. I’m happy you’ll benefit from the recognition of this site by Google, and I appreciate your continued contributions! For those who would like to make it to the top 10, now is the time to get into the game! As always, I look forward to your precious comments.
Mark,
Congratulations on moving up in page rank! A great milestone!
[...] first anniversary. Not his first birthday, though that would be one heck of a posting prodigy. But his first page rank. Yes Mark is the proud papa of PR1 homepage. Everybody please stop by and congratulate him on [...]
Thanks, Steve!
Actually when Google Pagerank of a site is 0, it’s considered as NO Pagerank. So I’m glad we’ve got one for Mark of Success. Hoping to move up over the years and share the benefits with top commentators, like you, who add so much life to the site.
Appreciate your contributions always!
Cheers!
Mark
